Your First Breath Underwater. No Certification Required.
Breathing underwater for the first time is one of those experiences that stays with you. Discover Scuba Diving is a structured, supervised introduction to the underwater world β designed for people who are curious about diving but aren’t ready to commit to a full certification course. No prior experience is required.
Under the direct one-on-one supervision of a PADI professional, the day begins with a pool training session at the dive shop β learning the basic skills, safety guidelines, and how to move comfortably underwater with the equipment. Once you’re comfortable, the group heads out to the Catalina Islands for two guided open-water dives to a maximum depth of 40ft/12m, with your instructor beside you at every moment. Target species include sharks, rays, octopus, eels, and a wide variety of tropical reef fish. In the right season, you might even hear humpback whales singing beneath the surface.
Pickup times are earlier than other tours to accommodate the pool training session β approximately 6:00 AM, varying by location. A medical statement is required at check-in. Guests must be in reasonable physical health to participate.
