Zipline. Water Slide. Hot Springs. Mud Bath. Traditional Lunch. All in One Day.
Two hours north of Tamarindo, the Buena Vista Lodge sits at the foothills of RincΓ³n de la Vieja Volcano β a stunning 1,500-acre working cattle hacienda and mountain retreat with panoramic views of Costa Rica’s Pacific northwest and the lush rainforested slopes of one of Central America’s most active volcanoes.
This full-day adventure is built around the volcano’s landscape and geothermal energy. It begins with a zipline tour through the rainforest canopy β multiple cables through the treetops where monkeys, toucans, and sloths live among the upper branches. From there, the group moves to the 400-meter water slide, built directly into the mountainside and powered by an actual mountain stream β a completely unique experience that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the region.
After the adrenaline, the pace slows: a horseback ride through the hacienda trails, followed by the volcanic mineral mud bath β thick, mineral-rich mud warmed by geothermal activity β and a long soak in the geothermal hot springs with sweeping views of the Pacific plains below. A traditional Costa Rican lunch buffet is served before the drive home. Transportation from all PCP-managed areas, a bilingual guide, towels, and lockers at the hot springs are all included. Departure is at 6:30 AM for a 9-hour day.
