Horseback Beach Riding at Conchal

The route starts in the hills above the coast — jungle trails, rolling terrain, and open fields on well-trained, calm horses guided by an experienced local instructor. After roughly two hours in the saddle, the trail arrives at Playa Conchal: a beach of powdery white crushed-shell sand framed by crystal-clear turquoise water and dramatic rock formations, one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica.

At Conchal, there is time to snorkel in the clear water, wade in the surf, or simply sit on the sand and take it in. Then it’s back in the saddle for the return journey through the hills. Suitable for complete beginners and experienced riders alike — the horses are well-trained and the guide sets a pace appropriate for the group. Round-trip transportation from Tamarindo, Langosta, Flamingo, and Reserva Conchal is included. Guests from Hacienda Pinilla should inquire about the additional transport fee.
